FAQ Section

How are intensives different from weekly therapy?

Therapy intensives are designed to create focused momentum in a shorter period of time. Instead of meeting for 50 minutes once a week, we spend several hours together in a structured format that allows for deeper exploration, skill-building, and meaningful progress without interruption. Many clients choose intensives when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, burned out, or ready for more concentrated support

Are intensives virtual?

At this time, all intensives are offered virtually through a secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform, allowing clients to participate from the comfort and privacy of their own space.

Do you accept insurance?

Therapy intensives are private-pay services and are not billed through insurance. Payment is due prior to the start of the intensive

Who is not appropriate for intensives?

Therapy intensives are designed for clients who are emotionally stable enough to engage in focused, extended therapeutic work. While intensives can be highly effective, they may not be the best fit for everyone.

Intensives may not be appropriate for individuals who are currently experiencing:

Active suicidal thoughts requiring crisis-level support

Active psychosis or severe untreated mental health symptoms

Current substance dependence requiring detox or higher levels of care

Severe instability that would make extended sessions emotionally unsafe or overwhelming

Ongoing domestic violence or unsafe living situations requiring immediate crisis intervention

Court-mandated treatment or evaluations

Situations where a higher level of care is clinically recommended

What happens before the intensive?

Before your intensive, you will complete:

Intake paperwork

Consent forms

Pre-intensive assessment questions

A consultation call to discuss goals, expectations, and recommendations

This preparation helps ensure the intensive is personalized and focused from the start.

Can I continue therapy afterward?

Yes. Some clients choose to continue with ongoing therapy after their intensive to maintain progress, deepen the work, and support long-term goals. Others use intensives as a standalone experience during a particularly challenging or transitional period in life.

Follow-up options may include:

Weekly or biweekly therapy sessions

Periodic maintenance sessions

Additional future intensives

Referrals for ongoing care if needed

Together, we can discuss what level of support makes the most sense for your needs following the intensive.

Are payment plans available?

Limited payment plan options may be available on a case-by-case basis. This can be discussed during the consultation process

How many intensive spots are available?

To maintain a high level of individualized care, a limited number of intensive spots are available each month.

Are therapy intensives confidential?

Yes. All services are provided through secure HIPAA-compliant systems, and your privacy and confidentiality are taken seriously in accordance with professional and legal standards.

How do I get started?

The first step is scheduling a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine whether an intensive is the right fit for you.

What states do you work in?

New York, Virginia, West Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina

Ready to begin?

Schedule your consultation and explore whether a therapy intensive could support the next stage of your healing and growth

You don’t have to stay stuck in survival mode. Imagine feeling mentally clear again. Less overwhelmed. More emotionally present. More grounded in your relationships, work, and daily life.
